A Cheap way of sandblasting @sandblasters. Sand Blasting straight out of a bag of media
I have this little kit available for £35.00
Its a cheaper way of blasting if you don't want to invest in a pressure pot.
Its nowhere near as good as a pressure pot but if you have the patience and not in a hurry, then this works.

Suction Cabinet against Pressure Cabinet

I have quickly done this video to show the difference between pressure and suction cabinets. I used a powder coated trailer wheel for the demo. Usually I will guide people away from suction cabinets when they say they want to remove powder coating as it takes so long. The suction cabinets are great and affordable for general blasting but for powder coating you really need the pressure cabinet. ...

Blasting Wood inside a cabinet to raise the grain for Richard

This Video is for Richard, he wants to blast wood inside a Blast Cabinet. As he was told to use aluminium oxide I started with the finer grade (80/120) which raised the grain and left a lovely finish. Richard wants a more ripped look so I tried with a more course grade of aluminium oxide (40 mesh). That didn't seem to be as rough as the sample he sent so I then tried garnet and finally the iron...

      @dawnacious Hi, yes as we've had an awful lot of rain this year but the rain water soon soaked away. It didn't cause me any problems as the pool was still full of water.

    Thanks for the video. Is this upgrade on the site yet, just ordered some bits and hadn't seen it. I was wondering if the O Ring for the seal on the feed plunger is available on its own? I bought a mushroom head on its own last year but didn't to fit it until last week. I've just ordered a new one to keep for when the other wears out and there is a kit with the plunger, mushroom seal and the O Ring. I haven't replaced the O Ring this time but I'd like to. Also, my cabinet is from a company in Derby who sound like they should be selling sofas rather than tools! They aren't much help with spares but the cabinet I haveis basically the same as the big pressure cabinet. Are the grates available for them? Mine are very worn now. I have two rectangular grates, one with a handle and a secondary one in the hopper (which is ok to be fair.)

    I've been using that procedure for a while but I still always dread using the pressure pot blaster because fine sand will still clog the hose occasionally and these things are so awkward to work with to clear the lines, especially when full of sand!

    Does yours make an insufferable high-pitched screeching sound? I’m in the US and I got one of the pressure pot cabinets from redline stands, who is the US importer of these types of cabinets. Exact same dust collector too. Except mine makes the most earsplitting high-pitched screaming, when under any load at all. And I’m thinking I may have a defect.

    • @Sandblasters
      @Sandblasters 3 місяці тому

      Hi, They shouldn't be giving off a high pitch screeching sound. I've had no complaints about that, however I did have one that came back with a cabinet because the company lost a contract and the extractor was making this awful noise, it was like it was sucking air through the main door. When I opened the cabinet door it stopped, the minute I push the door closed again it started again. I haven't had time to explore any further yet

    • @lukerestlessstudios
      @lukerestlessstudios 3 місяці тому

      @@Sandblasters yup that’s a lot like my issue. Open the door and remove the load from the tubes and it sounds fine. Though with mine I can tell that leak isn’t at the door I think it maybe at the mouth of the motor or in the internal duct that leads down to the filter. I’m thinking about trying to take it apart and just reapply silicone or RTV or some kind of sealant everywhere.
